Charles Eugene « Pat » Boone (born June 1, 1934) is an American singer, composer, actor, writer, television personality, motivational speaker, and spokesman. He was a successful pop singer in the United States during the 1950s and early 1960s.

According to Billboard, Boone was the second-biggest charting artist of the late 1950s, behind only Elvis Presley, and was ranked at No. 9 in its listing of the Top 100 Top 40 Artists 1955–1995.

Until the 2010s, Boone held the Billboard record for spending 220 consecutive weeks on the charts with one or more songs each week.

LE BYBLOS SAINT-TROPEZ et BYBLOS AU LIBAN

L’Hôtel Byblos est un palace français de style néo-provençal situé à Saint-Tropez, dans le Var et construit par l’hôtelier libanais Jean Prosper Gay-Para au milieu des années 1960. Il est racheté en 1967 par Sylvain Floirat.

À Byblos, au nord de Beyrouth, deux hommes s’entretiennent en 1960 sur la terrasse d’un restaurant. L’un d’eux, Jean-Prosper Gay-Para, hôtelier libanais milliardaire et père de l’économiste Guy Gay-Para, avoue à l’autre son amour fou pour Brigitte Bardot et son désir de lui construire « un palais digne des Mille et Une Nuits, unique en son genre d’un bout à l’autre de la Méditerranée. »

C’est en 1965 que commencent les travaux de cet hôtel « phénicien » de style « tropézien » à l’architecture très éloignée de celle des grands hôtels de luxe de Cannes ou Monte-Carlo. Une folie de dix millions de francs de l’époque en plein milieu d’un village de pêcheurs…
